George W. Bush's Noble Cause - 'Political Capital'

....Herskowitz said that Bush expressed frustration at a lifetime as an underachiever in the shadow of an accomplished father. In aggressive military action, he saw the opportunity to emerge from his father's shadow. The moment, Herskowitz said, came in the wake of the September 11 attacks. 'Suddenly, he's at 91 percent in the polls, and he'd barely crawled out of the bunker.'"

Be sure to read the original article about Herskowitz by Russ Baker. There are chilling similarities between BushCo's claims that Iraqis would throw flowers at our troops and the administration's fascination with flowers thrown at Margaret Thatcher's feet after the war in the Falklands. And Dick Cheney is credited for the idea of "starting a small war".
