This is George Bush’s accountability moment. That’s why I’m here. The mainstream media aren’t holding him accountable. Neither is Congress. So I’m not leaving Crawford until he’s held accountable. - Cindy Sheehan

There are things worth fighting for. And there are even some worth dying for. But Iraq is not one of them. - James Moore

...a kind of doofus-like cosmic force ...

Thanks be to the Toronto Star via BuzzFlash

'How does one explain all the misguided, unwise, sometimes outright boneheaded things the Bush administration has done since taking over nearly five years ago, and continues to do on a pretty much daily basis? How is it possible for a group of supposedly intelligent, experienced individuals to take this many wrong turns? Wouldn't you think that once in a while, even by accident, that George W. Bush and his advisers would make a decision that made sense?

That's where unintelligent design comes in. '

This is a funny article, but the more I look at it, the angrier I become. Why don't the Dems just take a look at this laundry list of outrages and make a damn stand? As Cindy Sheehan said, how the hell can anyone still be on the fence about Iraq and the rape, pillage and burn of our country by the regime in the White House? It is long past time to come down on one side or the other, but we have become the Fence Up My Ass Crack party, if you believe that our leadership (except for Feingold, Conyers, Lee, Waters, Boxer and a few others) reflects the people's views. I watched the videos of Rocky Anderson in Salt Lake City and I thought, what the hell is wrong with our national Democratic leadership when they can't look at what is happening at the grassroots level and get a fucking CLUE about what the people of this country want to see happen in their government? Godsdamn Howard Dean when he says on national television, you can't expect Senators to come up with a plan for Iraq - that is the President's responsibility. Well guess fucking what? Our Democratic representatives better damn well get a plan, and get it out there loud and proud for people to see, or who the hell is going to take them seriously? Why don't they talk to Juan Cole and other middle eastern scholars and foreign policy experts and devise a real strategy, rather than wringing their hands while George Bush and his pack of war hounds drives us straight into the conflagration that his Christian fundamentalist footsoldiers pray for? Jesus Christ, has Hillary forgotten the courageous stand she made for universal health coverage just a few years ago? I know we need the support of the moderates, but I believe they will come along if someone just has the courage to call this administration on its lies and outright looting of our nation's treasures - our environment, our belief in personal sacrifice for the common good, our brave and honorable military, our constitutional rights.
